From the moment of arrival, staff were extremely accommodating in assisting with all manner of needs from car parking to luggage handling and preparing the room. The room provided for us, up a flight of stairs, was called the “Snug”, which is also an apt description for its size. It, however, contained a large, very comfortable bed, a table and chair from which work could be done, and adorned with a coffee maker. Complementary drinks were also included. An additional bonus was having a window overlooking a yard that had a tree where squirrels were seen to frequently frolic. Room also had a good-sized wall mounted television which could be watched from the bed. Bathroom contained a good shower and a super towel heating arrangement that also allowed for the drying of smalls. Super large towels were also made available. Excellent free Wi-fi was also provided.

This is a small hotel in Morningside that is part of the Canny Man’s pub which is downstairs Very comfortable and stylish rooms . Our room was spacious and well equipped with a particularly good bathroom Good value for money and it does have a few parking slots so overall it’s recommended

The room was so inviting, very clean and the bed was so comfy with feather pillows I did not want to leave. We loved staying here would absolutely come back. In a lovely location too great places for food nearby. I would absolutely reccomend to family and friends!

First time in Edinburgh and I don't think we could have picked a better place to stay. The room was clean, tidy, very quiet and had everything we needed for our 2 night stay. We had room 3, the Garden room, with access to an outside private area. Just off the main road into Edinburgh city centre and all the places we wanted to go. We knew that we would have to eat out and that wasn't a problem with so many places to choose from on the door step. But the thing that made our stay were the 2 members of staff that dedicated themselves to making our stay memorable and nothing is too much trouble attitude. They really cared that we had the best time. The Canny Man, right next door was quaint, charming and had a bag full of atmosphere, a proper pub, with a heart warming welcome.

We stayed 2 nights at The Lane and it was definitely a huge highlight as part of our Scottish Road Trip. We had a super welcome and complimentary drinks in The Canny Man's from member of staff Marius. Our room was so clean, warm, spacious and stylish. The bathroom was lovely, underfloor heating and a huge shower, plus bath. The bed was really comfy, an added bonus of a TV hidden at the foot of the bed. On our second night the bar staff gave us a whisky tasting which was fun and added to our Scottish experience. The lovely Gloria assisted with our parking and recommended a super fish restaurant in the city where we had an amazing meal. We will definitely make a return trip and would love to stay at The Lane Hotel again. Many Thanks
